Nothing To Hide

the oak and the ash
mightiest of the woodlands
bares all in winter
stands witness to his power
yet we choose to look away

A beautifully soulful write, Harry, and a fav for me! Some may appear to "look away" by reflex, or is it a momentary dormant state? Enjoying this Tanka, thanks for sharing.:) Mikki

Both are big trees where ash is symbolized as world tree and oak is of life affirming symbol so stand as power yet we give lesser importance. Beautifully done my lovely friend. Loved always, bl

This is awesome Harry. So much stands before us, bearing witness... yet we ignore it.

To analogize this to the human spirit. Would be a devastating inhumanity. Yet, it happens. Time to dig a little deeper into our hearts. Powerful write Harry. Peace. :)

Full marks to you, Harry! A beautiful tanka; what a pity that beauty and its creator so often go unnoticed!! ~ Regards // paul

I do so agree. The trees are so beautiful and they clean the air and give us the air we breathe yet we take them for granted. Great job. God Bless, JB
