Nothing Rhymes With New Orleans

I'M NOT READY TO LOSE

NOT READY FOR THE STREET

JUST NOT READY FOR SLEEPING IN A BACK ROOM

WHERE THE ONLY INTIMACY IS A NEARBY DOOR BEING POUNDED

AT 2AM

SPREADING MY LEGS I ALLOWED WARM HOTEL SHEETS

TO COLLAPSE OVER MY NAKED BODY AS AN UNDERSTANDING NYMPH...

WHO FORGIVES

WHO LOVES

FIGHTING YOUR WARS THAT BEGGED A NOBLE FAILURE

SHE KNOWS ME KNOW

SHE KNOWS TOMORROW

BUT SHE WILL NEVER KNOW

THAT A FLY CAN LAST FOREVER IN

A MEXICAN RESTAURANT.
