You've had your work
printed up 
     You've let the people 
see your words
When will the millions roll in?
     You've carefully crafted your 
poetry
     You've worked hard on 
style
When will the millions roll 
in?
    You've been compared to 
famous bards
Read your work aloud and received 
applause 
When will the millions roll in?
   You are a 
proud poet
    You tell everyone you know 
about your work
When will the millions roll in?
   To make your daily bread
You need to be more than a poet
But....
you have touched other souls 
   More vital matter 
then the question
When will the millions roll in?

Compelled as it were, to speak to the souls and hearts of mankind... to uplift...to amuse... and to leave some good behind when I go beyond the Vail (hopefully not soon...lol) Those things are worth way more than millions. Carolyn Devonshire November 3, 2009 at 2:28 PM This is so true, Matthew! We get excited when our work is published, but there's not a big market for poetry out there. Hard for newcomers to get recognition. But we're not writing for the money; we're writing because we love to express our thoughts. Sad times for the Giants lately. Don't know what's happened. Well, at least the Colts and Saints are undefeated and their fans have a lot of spirit that I admire. Love, Carolyn

Matthan Atherton November 3, 2009 at 1:15 PM Wouldn't it be nice to make money for what we all are doing here? Hah, I think so, but when I write I tend just to worry more about getting a message across and not so much about what I will get in return.
