Note From An Aging Met Fan
All the horrors in the news
Rip into my soul
So I switch on the game
The Mets are playing the Nationals
Losing at the moment
When I was a kid
I cried when they lost
I cried a lot!
They used to be terrible
I watch the electric warriors
battle on the screen
7th inning almost over
60 years old
I am in the 7th inning of my life
After finishing this poem
I will watch the rest of the game
