The Russian region of Kaliningrad lies between two NATO countries Lithuania and Poland and because of sanctions Lithuania has banned Russia from using its rail network to send goods there.

Putin has threatened action against Lithuania for doing so, I dare him to try.

Lithuania has told Vladimar Putin to keep out of our nation They've been shifting freight to and from the Russian federation Putin has said they'll take action, it's just another hollow threat But if he takes any kind of military action with force he'll be met. Any hostile act against one, is a hostile action against us all Lithuania has nothing to fear and it's Vlad Putin who'll fall Because any hostile action will then trigger article five NATO will respond with force, and Putin will be lucky to survive. If Vladimar Putin wants to send freight to the Kaliningrad region He'll have to find another way, the west won't give permission But NATO' s eagle eyes are watching, Vladimar Putin's every move And certainly won't back down, the west has nothing to prove. Russia's botched special operation so far, has been a total disaster They think Ukraine will give in to bombings, atrocities and slaughter Ukrainians are proud and would rather die, than lose their sovereignty And have repelled the Russians in battle with acts of sheer bravery. Hi Tom, I'm still waiting for a positive western approach, the media seems to be losing interest. Still hoping someone will take the madman out from within. Great poem Again. Tom...Harry

Another informed write, Tom. Sometimes I only catch snippets of the news. I’d heard Lithuania mentioned and you’ve filled in the gaps. I’m struggling to comprehend why he hasn’t got a Russian bullet in his head… but I live in hope. Terry

Thank you Terry, Putin has been using their rail network to send goods there but they've imposed sanctions so he'll have to use other means. Hopefully his cronies will do the world a big favour and terminate him. Tom

Thank you very much Valsa, whilst the aggressors remain in Ukraine I'll continue writing to support them. Tom

Marvelously penned, Tom! Truly superb... That said (genuinely), here's my take on the outcome that looms. Russia slowly grinds it out and takes 100% of the Donbas; then Putin pauses to regroup for his next grudge war. OR, Macron, idiot-fool that he is, grants Putin an off-ramp to exit; then he regroups and takes the Donbas. Ukraine is valiant, but without the West behind her, only a true miracle can save her. :) gw

Thank you very much Gershon, every Ukrainian would rather die than give that murdering scum one inch of their country. I just hope the west doesn't stop supporting them with armaments. As for giving that murdering scum a way out to save face, my blood will be boiling if they do that after all the war crimes he's committed. Tom

Thank you Deb, I just hope that Ukraine doesn't get forgotten about because Putin won't stop at Ukraine, he wants to restore the iron curtain to how it was, the west needs to stand up to him. Tom

I read about that news Tom. They are going to trigger NATO into action--perhaps that is their motive. Madmen are controlled by anger. Another brilliant piece truly on mark, Tom.

Thank you very much Vijay, nobody wants this to escalate but Putin has brought this on himself, he has a naval base in the Baltic sea and they won't be able to supply them with the rail blockade in place. Just hope the west doesn't back down or he'll become unstoppable. Tom

My memories are of some very beautiful women in Lithuania, so I hope peace prevails as humanity can certainly do with more beautiful and peaceful women! Sorry the UN and NATO are so wimpy! Aloha!

Your observations are clever and true, my friend Tom. Probably the west challenges Putin to dare, if he wishes to have a real fight! Will he accept the challenge? I do not think so but if he does we have to expect a real war that will not last for long. Masterfully done!
