Not Me
This dark pit again,
Oh how familiar these feelings which drain me are.
Cutting me off,
Like the ribbon to a bow.
I feel the pieces coming apart,
Apart.
Slowly with each passing stare,
A glance perhaps,
It sinks into me.
Like a dagger,
One that pierces my heart’s core.
A freeing feeling which only lasts,
Until the next breath I take.
I am gone.
I am gone now.
This oblivion makes no sense to me.
Though I’ve felt it numerous times before.
Before this.
I sink faster with each breath I take.
And I gasp.
I’m drowning in my self-hatred.
I am not myself.
I am not me anymore.
