Gary Smith Poet Rhyme

Not Me

I accidentally let one loose
At the family get together,
While chatting about the usual things,
Life, TV, the weather.

Then began the furtive looks
Nostrils began to flare,
A pervasive, familiar odour
Was wafting in the air.

No one said a word
No one took the blame.
Everyone looking innocent,
Playing the not me game.

Then we all sat down,
And just as lunch had started
One of the children broke the ice
And cried aloud, 

   WHO FARTED !
