Not Just Sports

They say, “Get up, go play the game,”
Like winning’s all that earns a name.
Like sports are everything, my all.

Some days I’m strong, some days unsure,
Some days I’m ready, some days I’m slow.
But still, I want to do much more.

I like to run, I like to train,
But there’s more behind my name.
I’m more than just a sport or game.

I need some time, a quiet place,
To breathe and move at my own pace.
And find my peace, my own space.

I find my spark in words I write,
My poems shine my inner light.
They guide me through the darkest night.

I grow each day in small, slow ways,
Some steps are quiet, some ablaze.
But all of them help shape my days.

They say, “Go try,” they push and shove,
But I must choose what fits my love.
Not every push feels like enough.

I have my dreams, they’re mine alone.
Not what others set or own.
I walk my path, I make it known.

So let me choose, and let me be—
There’s more inside than you can see.
I’m more than sports; I’m just me.
