Not Far From Nowhere

True enough
             it has been 
      years
           since this unlikely 
    friendship 
          has moved at full steam
     But being what we are
     we know the light
     will cut through the shadows
                   as the
     music begins to play
           we know what a 
          great part we will have 
          in this earthly drama
          if only we can touch our
          sedentary and overworked souls 
           each to each
    Eyes have met 
               and even if they 
   are filled with tears
Through it all
                   they will see
   beyond momentary madness
           and view the 
beating heart 
              within the fragile frame
