Not Enough Time To Write
There’s not enough time to write my poems
For I met a nice guy and need to get to know ‘em
There’s not enough time to write my books
For sometimes I eat, so I have to cook
There’s not enough time to write my songs
Even if I make them short and not too long
There’s not enough time to write my stories
For the dog keeps barking and that gets annoying
There’s not enough time to do my stuff
Ask me how I know there’s just not enough
‘Cause my notes are all full of unfinished rhymes
Even though I try to write all my spare time
The works on the page need to be named
Cause If they catch on, they might live for an age
For if I die, I’m not famous enough
For any of you guys to publish that stuff
Will probably go on out with yesterday’s lunch
Cause right now it looks like a pile of junk
So give me some time to scribble away
And put the words together to make a refrain
How do I do this when I have to eat
This lately has become one of my biggest feats
I just can’t quit my nine to five
For I need a little money to stay alive
I want to write a song or a book that hooks
But still want some time to check my look
So I work on late into the night
Till I think one of ‘em has come out just right
Then I make a new post right before bed
And I go to sleep happy to rest my head
For Happiness comes from time to time
My friends are happy too, cause then I don’t whine
I must say goodbye now for I need to rhyme
And then I know that bliss, soon will be mine
