Not By Love
And through veins of ice
should outrage seek
the recompense of love
and a broken heart
suffer then the vagaries of vengeance
Weep
for a tourniquet is set about thy throat
and all words of supplicant
unheeded
drove this tenderness
to violence
And ate in battered disgust
the filth of it’s brimming cup
that serpentine of twisted liars knots
this boot stamp on innocence
a debacle of inflicted ignorance
So shall ye be judged
not by love
nor by hate
but in livings palm
who in life defiled life
a terrible indignation
awaits
You would fall as heroes
but for the side you choose
and defame your cause
it was always the enemy
you were fighting for
weep
for a tourniquet is set about thy throat
and all words of supplicant
unheeded
drove this tenderness
to violence
