Not a Penny Lost
It was the first car I owned and the only one
It was a small black Hillman bought for one hundred dollars
It drove for three weeks on a tank of fuel
Never letting me down except when it rained
You see those windshield wipers never did work
When the rain came had to stop every so often
Wipe off the window and proceed again.
I know it was unsafe to drive then
But I was young and stupid and did
That little car took me to work and back
But one thing for sure that little car would never
Make it through today's car inspection
I sold it three years later for one hundred dollars
So I never lost a penny on that little black Hillman.
