Not a Home

this house is not a home

barren with bodies

cold with central heat

this house is not a home

no shared exchanges

just shared glances

this house is not a home

my feet drag everytime i enter

my soul dreads the key’s entry

this house is not a home

no love, no smiles

no hugs, no embrace

this house is not a home

i hurt, you hurt, we hurt

no communication, no expectations

this house is not a home

built on pettiness, pain is the cornerstone

this house is not a home

i want to create a safe space

in my mind

the living rooms of my mind hath no sanity

this house is not a home

i long for the day i can feel again under this roof

this house is not a home

i want to like you both again

this house is not a home

i want to love again

i want to feel free

i want to experience freedom

is the key in my pocket?

this house is not a home

this house is not a home

this house is not a home
