Not a Friend

Eating him alive
Like a beast from deep inside
Not seen, cannot kill
When will his suffering end?
Afraid, alone, no friends come

Eating him alive
Friends, ceaselessy grasping all
All money all fame
Adding s**t to his good name
Where are you friends, WH

The hustle and bustle win's again. People too busy to let love in. Inside our four walls, the world looks so different. Unspoken kindness that was never meant. Message recieved Amy. Peace. :)

alas, when illness is in the equation one finds out who one's friends really are; it can be a very isolating experience, and your tanka captures it perfectly...

I love your questioning ending. so very powerful, empasizing the "no friends come" in the 1st verse. I really feel the lonliness and disappointment in this piece, especially the end. it just lingers in my soul. so sad.
