Nosebleed

Comes to mind
the first time
my nose started
bleeding
all of a sudden
fearing it wouldn’t
stop
and I would die
locked in a box
underground
alive
panic voiced
on face and lips
its pallor
the unspeakable
terror felt inside.
My father reassuring
with a smile
and tenderness
you are fine
he said
nose bleeds
clear the mind.
Like a rainbow
after rain or
fire melting ice
his words
brought back
the sunshine
drying tears
and puffing
cheeks
to rosy smiles.
His words
lingering on
in trials of sickness
pain of fear
wiping out
easing the mind
to heal quicker
knowing that
through illness
body heals and
even if it dies
will be fine.
Dad from Paradise
at my side is smiling
God is love
and those who love
forever are with Him
and one another
alive in love.
