NORTH SEA WINTER


teasing dawn weeps winter fog
day's light prances swiftly by
ice floes in the blood of men
     prism nights shatter

Zebra herds nudge babes along
Low slung sun burns shaded eyes
Water pools hide fish from hawks
          Peace of paradise
