Normality The science saved the day, again No Frankenstein theatrics Or headless brain The villagers chase, not to fork or to prod No burning torch, crucifix Or running prayers to God And while we applaud with no sense of reserve The white coated wonders And those who deserve Part of me Hopes, as the lightning strikes That our eyes flicker open When reality bites We learn not to tinker with life's natural rhythm As peace is restored We re-love what is given But thank you for now The brave women and men; For the God-given gifts in you Save us again For the clowns at the table; Please don't lead us astray For the price could be shocking In it's own kind of way.
