None Given, None Taken

Life being slowly picked out
Tolerating the cruelty
Of my heart draining
None left.
I abandon this cause
I'm empty enough
Without trying to be
Filled with your false
Affections.
No love given
None taken.
Desolate relief
As door closes again.
Resignation to fate
My chosen destiny
To live with what dignity
I have left, alone
The way it has always
Been meant to be.
Done with second chances
Burning what's left
Of my crumbling bridges.
Hope in the coming new day
Just another long humid day
The stars at night
My comfort, so bright
Never to leave
Their twinkling sight.
