Notes About The Poem

NODDERS IS THIS A BREED OF BIRDS???

It's a week ago tomorrow since
I ventured to our nearest major city
What a contrast from my home refuge
full of trees a creek, my land exudes tranquility

Am I the one that that's mad
the one who' is quite unstable??
I am seated at a cafe a juice is in my hand
I spot an ordering QR code stuck on a nearby dining table

Am I the one naive
mortified by this crazy world?
I shake my head in horror
at what technology has unfurled

I used to think that television
was the worst invention ever
But no This mobile phone it's streets ahead
at achieving a mind control endeavour

I look around see all these "families" sitting all together but separated
EACH and EVERY ONE the eyes and mind are focused on their individual mobile screen
Conversation ?? What's that? Then some "food" arrives. Shoved inside the mouth
Do they know what"s been delivered? Has this "food" even been seen?

So I walk to my intended destination, so many pedestrians
only one arm swinging, only one hand free
The other hand enclosed around a mobile phone this instrument that handcuffs the mind
I suspect it's probably glued there , Tarzans Grip ??? Forever! Permanently!

Now what about this Nodder?? This upright creature is it a foraging bird?
NOOOOO!!! It's a weird head bobbing pedestrian, bows intermittently
to watch this thing glued inside the hand
This crazy odd society , it is really so absurd

WHEW!!!!! FINALLY!!! I"m Back home Absorb the peace the solitude the glory of nature
Pray that there are many days before I need to return to that crazy insane city
The adrenalin rush. it finally has subsided, the nerves have settled down
Feeling safe, feeling blessed I'm back in a haven of tranquility

Footnote: I do not own or carry a mobile mind handcuff. It may seem strange but I had never seen a QR ordering code until that day. My wife advised me what it was
I guess there is a possibility maybe a probability that you've nodded your head to read this poem on a mobile phone
