No Words Spoken
No words spoken have weight.
Unless followed up by the action agreed upon.
Spoken white lies to placate,
to justify our inaction,
no harm done over the years?
It's a sign of caring, to apologize for inherent weaknesses and faults, to those spoken lies to.
Forgiveness may be unexpectedly found, not deserved.
Otherwise the harm done over the years,
can be unwarranted guilt,
that may manifest in the minds of the innocent,
When the words spoken to them don't ring true.
And they somehow,
wrongly,
feel some ownership.
