No Turning Back

Burning Bridges from Kelly’s Heroes sung by the Mike Curb Singers

Friends all tried to warn me
But I held my head up high
All the time they warned me
But I only passed them by
They all tried to tell me
But I guess I didn't care
I turned my back and
Left them standing there
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Joey tried to help me find a job
A while ago
When I finally got it I didn't want to go
The party Mary gave for me
When I just walked away
Now there's nothing left for me to say
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Years have passed and I keep thinking
What a fool I've been
I look back into the past and
Think of way back then
I know that I lost everything I thought I that could win
I guess I should have listened to my friends
All the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermore
Burning bridges lost forevermore

No Turning Back

In another world, another time
we would still be friends.
In this world, in this time
we have burned our bridges.

There is no going back.
We have nothing to share.
Our ties are cut.
Let’s move on.

No remorse, no second
thoughts.
We were close, but
no more.

The world has changed
and so have we.
Our paths can’t
cross again.

It is time we both admitted
our burned bridges are
lost forever more.

a nice poem. i think we can forgive some one and still move on. i was friends with someone 10 years from northern ireland on the phone chatting 3 or 4 times a day but now we like strangers and only chat every ten days or so. it will never be the same but they know there is no going back. that ship has already sailed. they on about moving to scotland or here in uk but it wont be with me. God gave them the oppertinity but did not take it so its to late now. better and grater things await. Amen

Thanks Diane. I agree. I have had some issues with some people in my distant past that I have forgiven gut not necessarily want to see. You are right better and greater things await. God Bless
