No Tomorrow

As I sat musing in my study
more asleep than awake
to my utter abject horror
came the sound of no tomorrow

It made me weep for all in transit
to what should be but isn’t
Life so fluid so electric
ends so quickly and so final

Let me waft and wax poetic
Can I sing again of beauty
In a place of no tomorrow
Would there be no yesterday?

Speak again in rhyme and measure
Still the sound of no tomorrow
Let me sing again in fervor
The poet song in trimeter

It appears this person is suddenly "frozen" in the realization that the beautiful life that once was has ended or changed, and will never be the same. Perhaps death or a major argument has removed someone precious from this person's life, or perhaps wordly change/turmoil has removed joy from this life. Reminds me of movie scene (Jose Wales) where woman sings hymns after natives killed her child & husband. (Excuse the prior comment, entered here by mistake; one poem leads to another, on and on.)

I appreciate your perspective in this poem. Likewise, I appreciate comments you made in my father's poem, "No Tomorrow". Your words: "there is no tommorow, or yesterday. no past or future, these exist in abstract form of expectation and memory, there is only the present moment in which to grasp and experience the magnitude of life. The sound of tommorow lures you away from the beauty of today." A philosopher, you are.
