        Looks askance
           does Western man
         when he sees 
            an African

          Revenge he fears
            for damage done 
          No tears shed ~
            for truth he shuns

How do we handle the age we are on and what is our perspective of the past. Should it be ignored. Of course not. We should look for peace and healing.

We did a study, my teen son and I, a few years ago on mid twentieth century school textbooks. My adopted son who is non-white was surprised by the books, I asked him questions, "What did you notice?" He said, "Wow, there sure were a lot of white people back then! They all had nice new cars and houses too." I told him "No, we lived in a town where there was every race, people were not all rich." Our project? We colorized some of the pages in retrospect. The good ole days, huh, not for everyone :( Makes me sad and mad at the same time :'( Pray for healing <3
