No Special Day
I do not need a special day
to show my love for you
for I'll continue to love you in every way
and my love will always be true.
I'll buy flowers and candy every day of the year
if that is what you desire of me
I shall always love you and fill your heart with cheer
and charm you with sweet poetry.
I find it maddening as hell, that men and women as well
ignore those that they claim to hold dear
together they dwell as if under a spell
and only show love at certain times of the year.
I will put you upon a pedestal every day
I will shower you with gifts galore
the love you will receive, will come from with in me
and not purchased from some specialty store.
My love for you is genuine
so I thought I'd make this clear
every minute of every day you'll get love from me
not just on any one day of the year.
