No Other Bird

(No other bird)

A scream of insecurity
washes out across
the fields
Like the screeching
of an old water mills
rustic wheels
No other bird
knows just how he feels
to him
he doesn't know
if this is even real
From his cage
his previous passion
has been sealed
now he has a new dream
a new inspiration
a different interpretation
His view is better
and bigger, wider than before
now that he nestles
in the sun
outdoors.
