Aloneness
metamorphosizes
into isolating loneliness
with haunting banshee-like screams;
daily caged inside
perennially mute
four walls,
a divorced empty nester.
Inhabiting
                             a home
once filled
with mirth and chatter.
In much happier times,
                             his refuge;
now a lonely prison,
Until he steps out
the front door
to plenary freedom.
