No One Lives Their Life

Laughing and dancing
Entertaining thoughts of happiness
While masking the loneliness within-
Afraid to unveil the fragile soul
Behind the tear stained mask
So you keep laughing and dancing
Waiting for the chance to reveal one's true self
In this masquerade we call life

That is so true. And the sad thing is, we can never reveal our true selves. Great poem, Jan. Keep writing!
