No One Cared
The day was bitter,
Skies overcast and grey,
But no one cared.
All alone,
He lived on the street.
But no one cared.
Clothing thin and sparse,
He fought against wind and rain.
But no one cared
The day light failed,
Dark night closed in,
But no one cared.
The stars sparkled,
The moon smiled,
But no one cared.
He longed for a home,
He longed for love,
But no one cared.
He slept on the park bench,
Frost smothered him,
No one cared.
Dawn came with a twinkle in her eye,
To late she said with a sigh.
Tom is dead
But no one cared.
