No More Broken Mirrors

Broken skin on my hand with some glass shards in between my cuts
As I sit here in front of this so called beautiful me looking so lifeless.
I can’t tell you the numerous times I sat in front of this mirror
With the blood dripping down my hands because I have had enough of always feeling sorry for myself
Enough of the lies people have told me, enough of the betrayal enough just enough.
I can literally feel my stomach being twisted into ways I never thought possible..
The feelings of sharp thumping pain flowing to my heart.
Any given moment felt like my heart would stop beating
Because tonight I cried because I am tired of always being there for everyone
While I am merely a thought in anyone else’s mind.
Tears running down my eyes as I grip onto my stomach & heart
Looking in the mirror asking myself why? Why aren’t you good enough?
Good enough for at least one person who wants to stay.
Good enough for one person who is willing to tackle my demons
As I conquer theirs.
This beautiful still night as I silently weep gazing into this shattered mirror.
I make a promise to myself to never feel this way again
No more broken mirrors!

Such a terribly magnificent and honestly penned poem. Tragedy can come of thinking like this. Hope you have a hotline to call? These depths of sadness do pass.you are right, feeling sorry for ourselves is no way to live. But people love you, never forget that, nighttime is the worst. Reach out, get help. Plentry of understanding in this world.value you...,first. Life rough at many times for us all.....Pangie xx
