No Matter How Many Beatings
As the night has set in and the wind chimes stopped,
I sit in silence thankful for this day
Yet, I still ponder sudden hurtful actions by others
That came my way, many questions linger…
Who are you to tell me how to live my life in such a ‘mean’ way?
Hypocritically accusing me of doing exactly what you are doing to me!
You don’t even know the facts as to why I do what I do
Accusations without facts, are haunting to say the least
I will say one thing, in these feelings I am entitled to express:
I can be beaten with words an entire lifetime
I will never stay beaten down
I am stronger than you think
I have learned to be wise over time
I will always be who I am, no matter how many beatings I take
By anyone who comes along
