No Man's Land

NO MAN'S LAND

We set out for the journey
The destination of the journey unkown
Yet, we were ready for the journey
The journey to no man's land.

Every land has its laws
The laws of the land we are going are unknown
Yet, we were ready to obey the laws
The unknown laws of no man's land.

New to the land and new to the people
The ways of life of these people are unknown
Yet, we were ready to relate with these people
The people of no man's land.

Old and aged in this land
Everything about and in this land we know
Time faded and we weren't ready to leave this land
The no man's land became our land.

Home is what you call home.
thank you.

I am unfamiliar with the genre of Ghazal but found this poem deeply moving and that is surely the ultimate aim of every poet. Well Done
