No Longer Yet Forever

How can a mere mortal poet Ever truly capture In mere mortal words The true nature of love? How to describe the sensations That go whirling through the funnel Of one's being like a vortex, Or the deep-rooted primal feelings That shake mere mortals To their very mortal souls? How to name all those elemental forces That sweep mortals up and out of themselves And bring them to a pinnacle Of almost unendurable passion And sweet ecstasy? The true nature of love Is as timeless as eternity, No longer Yet forever A secret.
