No Longer Running

Sway in the dark breeze
Seek wisdom from the trees
You're begging on your knees
Have some pride if you please

Overthink the truth
Chip away at each tooth
Decaying in the roots
In your soggy boots

I want to believe in you
But there's a sinister hue
Gleaming in your eyes
As you speak your lies

You claimed you loved me
So you sought to set me free
To save me from myself
You had to put me on a shelf

The pedestal I put you on
Is finally long gone
I'm no longer going to run
I'm going to chase the sun
