No Longer a Dream
Today my lifelong dream
of loving you
and being loved by you
broke into reality
as you are here
living and breathing,
bold and beautiful
and I could not have asked
for anything more.
Holding you, feeling you
next to me
was so perfect, so indescribable.
How we care for each other
and what we’ve shared
is just so special
that I hardly have the words
to put any of it onto paper.
I am so happy
that this dream of mine
is no longer a dream –
it’s real and alive
and Our Love is bursting out of it.
And more amazingly,
what I believed to be
just my dream,
had become yours years later.
Our two lives
have been very different
but our two dreams
are very much alike,
wanting to love each other
openly and honestly,
freely and without restrictions
is what now binds us together
and it is this love
that will carry us now
into all our tomorrows.
