No Heart

She's afraid. She's scared now that they've all went away. All she feels is emptiness in the dark, And the only sound is her pounding heart. Her body shudders. Tears fall, one after another. The silence consumes her. With each passing moment, she becomes more unerved. Whispers surround her like a dark veil. No one's there to help her, her body so frail. She panics and screams out, But no one's there to hear her shout. The darkness will eat her soul and heart, All because she was left alone, falling apart. She tries to calm down, she tries to escape, But inside she knows she won't see the next day. She knows now it's too late, So she lays down and excepts her fate. That's how they found her, lying in the dark, And they found that inside her, there was no heart.
