"THE WORDS OF A TALE BEARER ARE AS WOUNDS AND THEY GO DOWN INTO THE INNERMOST PARTS OF THE BELLY."            Proverbs 26:22

Sometimes we make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes follow us around for a long time. It's at times like these we find out who our friends really are. Do you know what a FRIEND really is? A friend is someone who doesn't believe you've done a permanent job just because you make a fool of yourself one time. A FRIEND won't listen to gossip about you and won't contribute to that gossip, even in jest. A FRIEND is there for you when you need someone to lean on or talk to. A FRIEND is willing to share your pain as well as the good times.                     You only run into a REAL FRIEND once in a blue moon. Know what that means? It means that finding a real friend is like finding a treasure. They're few and far between. So treat a real friend the way they should be treated. Don't just use them when you have nothing else to do and then ignore them when you have others to party with and talk to. A FRIEND IS A TREASURE. GUARD IT WELL BY VALUING IT FOR WHAT IT IS.

I don't want to spread bad news, So I can't say who told me, But So And So was seen downtown, In most unsavory comp'ny. It seems a shame that she can't see, Her actions tell her story, But you know me, I don't tote tales, I just can't help but worry. You should have seen her carry on, Or so I'm told, of course. I can't say for sure myself, And can't reveal my source; For that might cause them untold shame, And throw bad light on me. I wouldn't want the town to think, That I'd drum up such folly. But mark my word, sure as I'm born, That girl will rue the day, That she set out and marked her course, Along the wayward way. But I don't like to carry tales, So see this goes no further. Just pray for her and ask The Lord, To bless her poor dear mother.

You know what Judy, the same happens at our Greek Easter the gossip, I can't comment on, but - it is such a holy weekend and yet Good Friday and our midnight service on Saturday is more often than not a fashion parade. They seem to forget why they are really there. I so like your poem- detach yourself from everyone and everything when you go to Church and praise God. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

God isn't in favor of fake Christians using church as a social function or to show how fine they are. Thanks bunches. God Bless, JB.

Hello Judy ... how often has a molehill turned into a mountain as each gossiper adds their extra bit just to make their whisper more exciting - thanks Judy - Lindsay

The tale-bearer may be worse than the gossip, as the former makes an effort to spread poison. A pox on them both. ~ Gershon

Judy, you sure captured the excuses and reasonings we use to gossip. You are right about it being so hurtful. Great message! Blessings, Kim M

You did the right thing. You should never reveal such secrets. Nothing wrong though to show him what he is doing without rancour. Just tell him it will always be a secret.
