No Cell Phones In Medical Clinic
All the signs in the main room say no cell phones
I like sitting around the corner away from the receptionist’s eyes
I happily tap away on my I-phone screen
Tap Tap Tap
Tap Tap Tap
Thrilled with my wise seating choice
The main room of the clinic is silent
The others sit under the TURN OFF CELL PHONE SIGN
one mother has a toddler and six stuffed animals on her lap
I hear a couple of nurses chattering like squirrels on speed
I am showing off now
TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP
feeling like a fourth-grader who just sneaked a cell phone into her desk
