No Breakfast Today

No breakfast today no milk and no bread another day starting and I'm filled with dread.

First light the fire then tidy the house don't make a noise be quite as a mouse.

Don't wake my parents as I'm no fool get out of the house and walk straight to school.

With clothes that are scruffy I walk the wet streets and holes in my shoes no socks and wet feet.

Then home again at the end if the day to a tea of leftovers that weren't thrown away.

So still hungry I'm sent to my bed to sleep until tomorrow and a day full of dread.

Often no one can help until someone understands, likewise having suffered something similar. So unfair, such is life…

It is amazing how kids are treated like shit in some quarters. You always wonder if those same kids gain revenge later on in life.
