Nine Ungrateful Men

Ten were cleansed, yet one came back to say
"Thank you, Lord, I glorify Your name",
What happened then to the other nine?
They were healed but then went on their way,
Ungrateful men, they remained the same,
Their hearts stayed untouched by love divine,
How often we forget to relay
Our thanks to God for blessings that came?
Change means touched to testify and shine.

I love your use of the number nine. I often think of that story in everyday life. Do I approach God with a thankful heart, or do I forget all that He has done for me?

Jo, your excellent pen has captured the internal discussion many of us have about the story of these men and it’s effect on us in our lives. For me, for one thing, I started developing a habit of gratitude to lift my head and say thank you to God whenever I am graced in the course of a day. Hugs!

Jesus was worried over the ungrateful lepers who did not thank Him. They were cured physically but not spiritually.

I remember that story well Jo, even today mankind is so ungrateful for many things. Hope you have a lovely day. Tom
