Nights
Beautiful, enthralling, all consuming,
My heart it beats for you in these moments,
Tangled limbs and gasps,
The passion behind your eyes,
A temporary feeling of false love,
Your hands caress me softly,
Drinking in the flesh beneath them,
You are a sickening form of beauty,
Bright eyes, a smile that shines like the sun,
But beneath it is raw lust that brings you,
My bed is the only place we are together,
Occasional companionship in the loneliest of nights,
I can’t fall in love with you,
Nor the way you stroke my hair,
Or kiss me so tenderly,
It is not love, it is obligation in these bitter-sweet moments,
If I were a better woman, perhaps in another life,
I could have found more than temporary love,
However, the tangle of limbs, the gasps from your mouth, the endless youth,
I stay here, awaiting you, wondering,
Is this already the end of the night?
