Nightmares Poem From June of 2006

When I wrote and posted my poem about nightmares earlier I had totally forgotten about the following poem. I found it today going through a box of books. It's more of a brevity piece. Although at the time I wouldn't have known to call it that. Thought some might like to see my earlier take on the subject. Nightmares Jaws clenched. Muscles tense. Afraid to sleep. Afraid to dream. Pursuit. I am hiding. He's searched everywhere. Methodically. Except... Here he comes. Shudder. Awake. Tears. Afraid to sleep. Afraid to dream.
