I awoke promptly, knelt down Called Jesus in my prayer As in pain I struck my eiderdown In the wake of trials from a faith slayer. The next morning shaken into disbelief I consulted my parish priest Who in high esteem held my belief Despite indiscretions in my transient tryst.
