Night Unseen, a Constanza

Ashes linger on a fair brook,
Wizened, wrinkled, old eyes they say
Have spirit that in death yet pray.
Where once a life pale darkness took,
	A crow to feast, a shiver’s wake,
	To ripple, stab, then overtake.
To settle where the gods may look,
A soul may lie or live and cry
But never kneel to heaven’s spy.
Or float in sight of nature’s cook,
A ray of myth and holy light
For fading in the may or might.
A sacrifice, or murder’s hook?
None but the secret lovers’ fear
Could tell what hell transpired here.

Ashes linger on a fair brook,
Where once a life pale darkness took,
To settle where the gods may look,
Or float in sight of nature’s cook,
A sacrifice, or murder’s hook?

Aron, Congratulations on your placement in Andrea’s “Can you Constanza? Contest.” There were so many really amazing entries we had a very difficult time deciding. We had to go by who followed the form best, and whose poem was most creative. I spent 4 and half hours going over the poems and Andrea, a lot longer. Thank you so much for your wonderful entry Mahalo, Connie This was one of my top fav's.

ARon, Congratulations in my contest. Connie, my co-judge brought up to me how Poe-like this one sounded and I had to agree. It is the one probably the most unique on the list!
