Night Owl

From the darkness of the eaves,
bathed in evening's undertone,
something's seen among the leaves -
something made of meat and bone

Bathed in evening's undertone,
something tries to slow it's breath
Something made of meat and bone,
sensing sudden, silent death

Gary Radice April 25, 2020 at 1:57 PM I really like this both in substance and particularly, the style. I like the way the 2nd line of each verse becomes the first line in the following verse. The repetition works well and adds to the atmosphere of the poem.
