Night Light

A piece of light I see
See too bright
Thinks only at night
Burns away waiting for the night.
Seeing it go.
Watching it leave
Seeing the shadows
Now I'm too tired…
Too tired to even sleep.
Tried and tried
But dying inside
Night light
I'm scared of the night
But the only light i see
Is at night.
Trying to hold it close
But trying to hold tight
Holding on for dear life.
Fear not letting go
holding tight will only hurt more.
For this night is the night light.
The only light i hold so tight
So tight i cry
I cried that night.
I saw my light.

Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
