Night Falls Upon Us

night falls upon us like
a blanket of surety knowing
the darkness is inevitable
seeking respite from the sun
night falls upon us melancholy
drifting awakening new senses
unseen during the daytime
melodies night captures
your souls solace for peace
in solitude allowing every
emotion to be quieted settling
into a calming state of mind
while thoughts of tomorrow
yesterday future thoughts
dance in harmony to a brilliant
symphony beneath the bright
stars unfolds a dark rapture
orchestrated to a sullen
reminder that daylight will
soon be approaching while
the need to hold on tight
to night just a little longer
before the hustle and bustle
of the busy world awakens
again why we know its coming
soon but ah the sultry nighttime
romancing the serene silence
of it all comfort and relief
the only time within the day
where we are truly alone
with ourselves while each
of says good night dear see
you tomorrow sleep tight
selfishly clinging to your
own nighttime craving
that uninterrupted energy
the time of day where every
living thing simply calls it a night
I devour my dark fetish to write

Hello Yolanda, I hope all is well with you. I create poetry when the words come to my thoughts. sometimes I wake up to just write a title. Then create a poem. Hugs. Darlene/
