Notes About The Poem

Image result for pictures of nocturnal animals roaming

Night Around the World

Stillness comes, quiet ensues at days crepuscule "time"
Humans and animals rest, settling in haimish "homes"
Some with droopy eyes when darkness inks the "sky"

A crescent moon, it seems more and more stars fill the sky,
viewed by star-gazing people in the stillness of their homes,
but as the clock ticks on, they realise it's past bed-time.

Owls needing to hunt for prey come out of their nesting homes
Thieves also look for prey, not enjoying night's awesome sky
Long ago, most slept shortly after crepuscule time.

Night-time at homes round the globe: watching the sky!

Congratulations, Sara, on your success with the haunting narrative detail in your poem. Excellent imagery. It has a fascinating flow. The hype referred to in my poem Sold On Hype refers to exaggerated claims, Howard

A nice soothing poem to read tonight, at 11:40 p.m... If I could, I would -- retire at crepuscule time, that is. (Thanks for teaching me a word that rhymes with 'miniscule,' Sara!). Pleasant dreams. Zzzz

Gershon, I hope you can use this word in both your writing and quiet conversation. I slept fairly well last night after several nights without sleeping well. Allergies have been keeping me awake with breathing problems. Thank you for dropping by and taking time to comment. Sara K

Such a pleasant poem I enjoyed reading my friend. I do see once in a while an Owl around, they say its a barn owl.. That sucker is large. Then one day as I sat on the front porch during day light hours 2, must have been mates flew right over me you could tell they were owls no necks. Stay safe have a nice weekend.

I try to keep my little dog close so one of those things won't come down to get him.

Eve, Unusual for them to be seen in daylight hours, but I guess the unusual happens now and then. I have only seen one owl and only one time in my life. I was out after dark one time and one flew right over my head. In near silence he flew nearly scaring me to death. Thank you for your visit and leaving such a nice review of my work. Sara K
