"night"

Velvety blackness cloaks me
jewelled sky above
starlight

Quiet murmurings of the night

Light wind rustles the leaves
breath in night forest
enjoy the breeze

The solitude of the night
pale moon
star bright

Trees creak
branches sighed
every sound magnified

Quiet murmurings of the night

Moonlit clearings abound,
small creatures scamper around
For, night is alive!Full of sound

Quiet murmurings of the night

For the night never does sleep
nature's too busy
a shift it does not keep!

Dark of night
Star bright

For without the night,
pale moon,glittering stars
would not be that wondrous sight

Breathe in velvety blackness
for to appreciate light
one must cloak one'self
in midnight
