Niddle Niddle Land

In Niddle Niddle Land
You can only enter
Through the one way door
Right at the very centre.
There is always food a plenty
From the Niddle Niddle Tree
With crusted Claret in buckets
Served every day from three.

And the men of Niddle Niddle Land
All have round and smiley faces
And in just in case of emergency
All wear both belt and braces.
And their women are all beautiful
Just dressed in flowing dresses
Made from Niddle Niddle leaves,
Also woven through their tresses.

Every night as sunset approaches
The Niddle NiddleTree issues a call
And the folk of Niddle Niddle Land
Gather there one and all
And climb into the branches
Into the foliage lush and deep
And then then Niddle Niddle tree
Sings them all to sleep.

Niddle Niddle Land then closes
Until just before next sunrise
When the Niddle Niddle Tree
Sings all open up your eyes
And the Circle runs again
For everything is planned
Down to the very last iota
There In Niddle Niddle Land.

Hmmm. Reminds me of Whoville. LOL Sounds rather authoritarian to me, although beautiful. Proceed with caution. :)

I want to move to Niddle Niddle Land, possibly because I am half Irish!

Thanks Caren - don't do it. Lots of Irish in my background as well.

It’s interesting reading your comment response, Terry. It doesn’t sound sinister to me at all, but more like a place that’s relaxing and easy to live in. You must be surprised to hear that…

Thanks ilene. Ir was a political poem to show how easy it is for us to be manipulated - the folk of the land had every thing they needed except freedom - they were even called to bed. Bit, Im glad you liked id and thanks for all your support.Terry

Crusted Claret's not to everybody’s taste is it. Like the Curates Egg then, eh? Thanks Wendy - I wasn’t quite sure about it myself. Niddle Niddle Land is a very sinister place, a totalitarian state, maybe?
