respite’s 
calling

cool drops
falling

gentle
thunder

it’s no
wonder 

we feel
heady

autumn-
ready

we’ve stopped
sweating 

sighing
fretting

just for
now, though

for we
all know

heat will
hold sway

by this
Tuesday!
